Hello,
I haven't been here for a while, hope that you don't mind me posting... I wasn't at this last RGruppe gathering but I've been to several of these once-a-year gatherings. FWIW, some of the RGruppe guys have 914s... either -6 conversions or factory 6s. I've seen a rally-look 6 and a 6 conversion that regularly show up and a really nice black factory 6 with Mahle gas-burners. I met alot of really nice people from the RGruppe. They share a passion for early cars that have a tendency to rust (sound familiar?)... some are stock, some have some trick sport/rally/Race options. Q-tips and concours have never been a priority. They get to drive, talk cars, and eat with friends. I know Cris and think that he's one of the most down-to-earth guys that's passionate about early cars (911 R look). Their event isn't based on a parking lot pic... they've been three day gatherings with rallys/tours and the races @ Laguna Seca. The pic that they were trying to get was one, tail light height, down the row of duck tail cars. I think that it started with one pic a few years ago that showed several RS ducktails in a row. It was a cool pic that became an annual thing. |
