5 year project thread???? This project started before this club existed!!!! There are bits and pieces of the progress scattered all over the place. Some on my website, some here, and some that have not been put on the web yet. Update. I fixed the broken MFI timing belt. Let me tell you, it's harder to do on a 914 than it is on a 911. At least on the 911 you can actually SEE the friggin timing marks on the crank pulley. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) If this thing ever breaks a belt on the road somewhere, It's getting towed to a place where it can sit for a few hours to let the heat exchangers cool off before I attempt to replace the belt. And for 15.00 a pop, I suspect that I will change the belt every time I have to pull the motor out of the car. Ran Tuesday night, need to make a jig to sync the throttle rods. Tonight I put the mirror and targa top seals on. I will also install the targa pad that I got from Skline. Alignment and finish out the FI adjustments is slated for Sat. If I get it done in time, I will get it inspected on Sat, if not, there is a place open on Sunday to get it inspected. |
