have engine out and separated from transmission, clutch worn enough to justify replacing. I am not racing and engine is stock, I am in the middle of a rustoration, so I don't need it done today! Wear was even, flywheel has a bit of a ridge so it will need to be dressed, I am trying to find someone local to do that. I replaced the clutch in my beemer a few years ago with a Sachs and it has been great, I have heard of other club members using Sachs, comments/recommendations much appreciated.

What is the best clutch for the 914 you ask..
Duh... It's the most expensive one. Clutch Masters triple carbon fiber clutch with aluminum flywheel combo. And it weighs 6.4 pounds complete. You have to add a master and slave setup for the hydraulic TO bearing. But thats easy... Probably only 1100.00 for the hydraulics or so if you are connected. You also get a free clutch masters decal with it to go in your car..!!!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mueba.gif) 3800.00 USD. wholesale (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/ohmy.gif) Total package price 4900.00 Plus install....!! Dude... Smoking deal..!!!! Twystd1 (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/lol2.gif) Note to self: If I were a zillionaire.. I'd have one... Just to say I had one.. Bragging rights is important sometimes...... |
