I have been working my tail off and saving money to build my 2litre motor this summer, so far i have saved $2500, If should have another $1500 in a month or so. However, I have been seeing 2.7-6 and 2.4-6 on ebay, the recycler and other places from $850.00 - $4000.
My question is - is it worth upgrading to a 2 litre from my 1.7, when a couple of thousand dollars more, i could get a six? And what is involved (price wise) to convert it from a 4 to a six. Give me some feedback - Craig |

Or you can be patient and just buy stuff when you find great deals.
I bought an original 914-6 engine sheetmetal set in good shape for $50. I got a 914-6 flywheel in great shape for $60. I just keep pickin up parts here and there and sooner or later I'll have everything checked off the list. Brad what happened to that 2.0 six conversion you did for like $500? Tell the story man. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Are those cool Canadians (Sabin, Marc-Andre, Michel Richard) on this board? Those guys rock. Sabin made his own steel GT flares, and I think it was Michel who made his own bulkhead -6 engine mount for like $30. He also made a 914-6 oil tank using 911 oil tank parts (but then didn't use it instead opting to use a real 914-6 tank). -Ben M. |
