I have been working my tail off and saving money to build my 2litre motor this summer, so far i have saved $2500, If should have another $1500 in a month or so. However, I have been seeing 2.7-6 and 2.4-6 on ebay, the recycler and other places from $850.00 - $4000.
My question is - is it worth upgrading to a 2 litre from my 1.7, when a couple of thousand dollars more, i could get a six? And what is involved (price wise) to convert it from a 4 to a six. Give me some feedback - Craig |

I have a few /6 conversion question.
1) Is it a clean install-any cutting of engine bay/ rear trunk bulkhead? 2) Is it possible to use a sideshifter trans? 3) How does it attach to the body? (obviously not the same engine hanger bar!) 4) Where do you mount the dry sump (oil tank)? 5) what is the best six to put in there? (2.0, 2.2, 2.4 w/ mfi, 2.7 CIS, etc) 6) What Will fit back there? 7) What about "hand throttle"? any pics of installs or components would be appreciated. Also, what would total cost be to do just a full engine conversion? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) |
