Looking great. Always loved this car and obviously a huge influence on my build.

Thank you so much! Imitation they say is the purest form of flattery! How is your build coming?

Indeed it is!

Getting very close now with a diminishing to do list to prove it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Hoping to have the engine fitted in a couple of weeks and then to hit the road for some shakedown testing.

Stephan,
Your thread is the closest I’ve seen to a thread that covers the restoration down to the nuts and bolts. I hope to hop the pond one day and see it up close. That is if you guys are still allowing colonists to come over on a tourist visa? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

I got a preview this morning of new art for 914Rubber.Com T-shirt’s and hoodies. See if you can guess why they sent me the preview? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif)

Love it!

Love your build, but when I see your engine bay it just screams out for you to take this car to the next level. Drop that motor, get all the glue off the firewall and shoot it with a new coat of the body color so it looks even more pristine and more like a factory GT.

The other mod I would make is to rip off all that motronic crap and replace with EFI & PMO ITB’s to give it that classic early 911 motor look, but with the latest technology. Here’s some inspiration for how sexy your engine could look. This is in my 911 hot rod with a 3.2 motor transplant, but nonetheless just how your engine could look.

Steve,
Sometimes you just have to call it done. Besides, this gets a good deal of my time and attention lately...

That engine looks fantastic but remember, in a 914, you don't see the fan.

I am to the point that everything I do is a small but satisfying detail. My original speaker pods are on the shelf, and my current set is a poorly made set of AppBiz fiberglass. I snatched a set of these when @Mikey914 first came out with them. My only problem was the glossy finish. So today, I gave them 2 coats of SEM black flexible interior paint to knock down the gloss. Perfect!
