It does look like better pictures. However, not original as it is advertised as being.
I may be too harsh, but by judging by the bubblegum welds on the rear trunk pivot on the passenger side, I would be a bit leery of what is hiding under the fresh paint. I'm also not sure why the seats were redone like they were. They do look nice, but on an otherwise original looking car, I think they detract. My revised guess is 12,500 if it does sell. These are gaining attention, but still not a real popular car. A 73' 2.0 in similar condition SHOULD fetch more. |

Not surprised either, I thought it would get into the mid teens plus the sell price included the commisions on top of the cost.

That's just about right for BJ...double what it is actually worth. it just goes to show you that the money hungry dopes (did I type that out loud????) at BJ don't understand anything but antiques and muscle cars. I hate...did I type that out loud again...dislike the BJ, only care about stuffing millions of stupid un-earned $$'s in their already fat wallets, while perverting the car hobbie bastards. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) BJ is right up there with Pawn Stars and the rest of those GD shows. Taking a poor suckers money to sell the thing for twice or three times what its worth, or giving someone half of what you're going to sell it for. Goes to show you that there will always be plenty of people with far more money than sense. Granted, I'm spending all my time piecing together a car thats a total rust bucket (and some would have said total loss), but I don't expect to spend more than 1,500 when I'm done to have a great car to drive! -George |

Joe public. Not to speak highly of dealships sometimes. I sometimes am baffled at how low some teener owners think of these cars value. They are an underrated & an increadable value relitive to most collectable/sports car or what ever you may classify them as. I've got no skin in the game at the moment as I'm 914less so I've no reason to say this except I hate seeing someone kick themself in the teeth, especially teeners, lots of quality peeps just my 02c |

The cost to put on the BJ Scottsdale auction is pretty small when you consider the vendor sale commisions, the gate receipts, the TV revenues, and oh yeah the 20% commision on $70M in hammer sales.

That is the reason that the majority of people on this board would probably go to BJ to look but never buy. We know better.
Have you noticed how many cars roll of the block with a brake light or tail light out? I saw a beautiful '68 Mustang go for a ton of $ then roll off with only 1 working brake light. It may sound petty but for that kind of money everything better work. |

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that good for us as 914 owners? I wish it would have sold for more. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif) I can't for the life of me figure out why in the world you guys complain when our cars sell for top dollar, regardless of the reason. As for BJ, no need to hate on them just because they have figured out a way to create a buzz and atmosphere that sells cars for top dollar. No one is forcing the buyers to pay those prices. Some might even call it a very successful business model. |
