Here ye go Kevin' Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And never brought to mind? Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And days of auld lang syne? And days of auld lang syne, my dear, And days of auld lang syne. Should auld acquaintance be forgot, And days of auld lang syne? We twa hae run aboot the braes And pu'd the gowans fine. We've wandered mony a weary foot, Sin' auld lang syne. Sin' auld lang syne, my dear, Sin' auld lang syne, We've wandered mony a weary foot, Sin' auld ang syne. We twa hae sported i' the burn, From morning sun till dine, But seas between us braid hae roared Sin' auld lang syne. Sin' auld lang syne, my dear, Sin' auld lang syne. But seas between us braid hae roared Sin' auld lang syne. And ther's a hand, my trusty friend, And gie's a hand o' thine; We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet, For auld lang syne. For auld lang syne, my dear, For auld lang syne, We'll tak' a cup o' kindness yet, For auld lang syne. |

Tonight is the one night of the year I really hate my job. I am a bartender at one of the major casinos on the strip. With NYE falling on a weekend this year it will be even worse than usual.
Needless to say I will be very busy and very popular. The bar will be 5 deep all night long and everyone wants to be served first. I think every person from California under 25 is in town and they all want to get as drunk as possible. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/beer3.gif) My only consolation is the money is good for the night. (But still not enough to make it worth the aggravation) I take pleasue in knowing that tomorrow morning I will be sleeping soundly while my obnoxious customers are (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/barf.gif) |

I am heading out to work for a few hours. Try to get home before midnight so as not to be in traffic with all the drunks. Hope you all have a very happy new year and get home safely.

First, Happy New Year's to all on the board! It's been an event-full year for us, and I hope it has been for y'all as well. And even more so in the new year!
NY's was pretty quiet here -- got the girls to bed and such (no complaining there (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)) and then got a dip in the pool -- (just got out. it's 50 degrees F here, and the pool was 90 -- what's not to like!!) kim. [edit: can't spell] |

Alison:
I stepped out on the front porch at midnight to listen to the fella next door serenade the neighborhood with " the pipes" . Amid the crash & boom of fireworks one could imagine troops marching into battle.....it never fails to move me....and I'm German (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif) |
