Now call and reserve your room!

1025 miles, sure is a long way. I'd be afraid to drive that far in a teener traveling by myself. I'd have to be (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif) to make a drive like that in one of my teeners.

Donald - we already know you are crazy so that tactic didn't work. (FAIL)

We already know you have driven twice that far by yourself in a 914 before. (FAIL)

We also know you live in Memphis which is on I-40 and Albuquerque is on I-40 so there are not even any turns for you - just head West. (FAIL)

You also know that if you come Mary will make her special dessert for you and I will have a bottle of your favorite Scotch...

Do it!

Room is booked!

By the way I have a spare 914 if someone wants to fly into Durango and drive it down (some assembly required so you might want to add an extra day....). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) If you mean the Double Eagle II airport, maybe. ABQ is more like twice that. But it's all good, someone will get ya Ellyut!

QUOTE(rnellums @ Jan 17 2014, 10:22 PM) *

No, it ran through ABQ (Central Ave. is old Rt. 66), although for some reason there are some historic rt. 66 signs near Santa Fe too... Is a cruise up through the Jemez on the Docket? I know the owners of a Music camp in Jemez that might let us rent out the camp (individual cabins, etc. if that would be of interest).

Rt66 in New Mexico changed at least once (I think twice) over the years, so it's a matter of when you're talking - the very old, original route used to swing down to Los Lunas about 20 miles south of Albuquerque, then back up through the ABQ, up to Santa Fe, and finally over towards Arizona. Hey, it's called the Land of Entrapment for a reason!

I am advocating a Jemez run (actually up to the Valles Caldera for pics). Even if it isn't part of the group plan, one could always do it anyway. It's a great twisty, scenic drive (once you get past the Jemez Pueblo) and can even be made into a loop to go through Los Alamos and into Santa Fe to return to Rio Rancho/ABQ via I-25, though that would take up most of a day if one wants to stop in either place.

Personally, I might not have a car to drive during the event, but I could be a front-seat driver/guide/annoyance! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/happy11.gif)

We don't exclude anybody. Although we might park your Narp at the end of the row. Which may or may not accidentally get missed in some pictures (IMG:style_emoticons/default/evilgrin.gif)

I won't be making it, driving or flying... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

The wife is flying to Michigan to deliver a puppy and visit relatives that weekend.
Someone has to stay home and take care of the zoo. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/shades.gif)

Maybe next year,
Jeff
