My '72 has dash vents . . . I'll check the build date later. Finally got around to checking the build date on my car: FEB 1972. If I remember correctly, the dealer said the dash change-over was a couple of months prior to that. FWIW, I also checked my friend Shek's car (build date DEC 71); his has the new dash (end vents) but the old (non-retractable) seat belts. Here's his car/time capsule: Hope this helps! |

Really, this isn't about early/late. It's about vented/nonvented dash frames. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Just for all the people who are wondering if they're early or late.
Oh and I'm super happy to see this production. Can't wait. |

Do we know what year is the cutoff year is yet? Is 73 late? Late 72 is confirmed as being correct, I suspect that the cut off is actually 71, unless there was a mid production switch. |

... Finally got around to checking the build date on my car: FEB 1972. If I remember correctly, the dealer said the dash change-over was a couple of months prior to that. Does his car have the fixed-position passenger seat, with the backrest incorporated into the backpad too? Our '71 (Jan '71 build date) has the fixed seat and no lower dash vents. I had a late '72 that had the adjustable passenger seat. I don't remember whether the lower dash pad had vents though (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif) FWIW, I also checked my friend Shek's car (build date DEC 71); his has the new dash (end vents) but the old (non-retractable) seat belts. Here's his car/time capsule: Hope this helps! |

Oh and I'm super happy to see this production. Can't wait. SoCal Andy even used a late pad on his 6. They can be modded for use with no issue. He will have to chime in to give the details. Anywho, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) I'm now in for two as I just used my last mint factory pad in 7 of 9 as she goes to her new owner. |

Not too late. We're still working on the mold. Hopefully about 10 days from our 1st article.

Mark you will be a most hated person among many 914 wife's if these turn out as good as stock. Looks like 5 weeks is about the right amount of time it takes to convince a 914 wife that this is a necessity.

Less so than if the wife's found out what guys were paying for crack free examples before these became available. Mark is really bringing down the cost of 914 ownership, in a round about sort of way (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |
