question .. does she know the fenders are welded on ?? I do now. Ugh! But hopefully there's. Cure. Yup, a spot weld cutter. Or for those who are less concerned with the actual pieces themselves, a Sawz-All. The cutter is a lot more work, but a lot less likely to damage stuff while using it. --DD |

Cutting the fenders out is best left as a last case resort. Its much easier and better if they are patched and bodywork is performed, unless they have been in a serious accident or they are extremely rusty.

Hi Michele,
If "we" (I'm one of the guys without a huge parts stash because I'm stopped on my restoration for a short time. . hopefully it will resume this month!!) cannot get you the parts you need, contact the guys at EASY in Emeryville. They are good guys and have lots of "stuff" Sean |

On a lighter note I'm probably buying a Ferrari. Uh, that's a Fierorrari, Chris (IMG:style_emoticons/default/slap.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-73-1432246018.jpg) Mark, is the list of parts needed up to date? Michele, glad to hear your car was recovered and returned in fairly complete condition. Now the fun begins ... like reacquainting yourself with an old friend who's been down on their luck and just now getting back into the game (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/welcome.png) |

While I don't have the parts you need, there is one that makes me wonder:
Mag Caps all four black Porsche emblem - If you have Fuchs or Mahle wheels, they were never black ... all "chrome" or shiny metal. Emblems would have been added by a PO. If you have aftermarket wheels, they were black plastic. Can't tell from the pics which wheels you have. |

First pic in the thread - looks like they are early style white Rivieras (maybe even Formula-Vs) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

I've got a tan passenger seat, minus the bottom pad, and the side bolsters are starting to split, but the all important center section looks OK. Also a new rear trunk seal, sent to me by mistake years ago, I guess it's time to pass it on...

Good luck with the restoration. Wish I were closer and could help. It might be best to stay out of the Sandbox unless you are very tolerant. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/mad.gif) Don't listen to Dave! We are nothing but nice over in the Sandbox. |

I finally found a good home for an extra front hood I had in my shed. I saw Michele's 914 and it is going to be a labor of love. I was wondering if anyone is still up for a build day. I heard there is a group of guys in the San Jose area that get together on occasion. Maybe there would be some interest in a ride over the hill. Hopefully we can keep this thread going and get another 914 back on the road.

Michelle,
Send me a PM with an up to date list of parts you still need. I may be able to help, but being in St Louis area might be a concern. Gary |
