Years... let's hope not. It's not like there was a production run of 500 pieces.

What can I say... I hope some one has a nice set they'll sell me for $X a piece so they can buy the shiny repros & put the change in their pocket.

Even if I had to use repros out of the sheer desire to not have my wheels have gaps like a hockey player's mouth.... I'd still be keeping my eyes peeled for originals.

Maybe voicing my opinion will make some people not want to part with their originals... and that's ok. I' just hoping people have some extras they're not using... and will help me get my original wheels mated with original caps.

FYI there is a set on eBay for $800. Pretty expensive.

Btw. Keep trying (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif). I purchased 4 NOS for $75 / each from a couple of kind members. It is also possible to refurbish/restore damaged oldies.

Keep up the hunt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You found a fair deal on yours. $800 ... will probably never be sold... I might have seen those the other day... & if I recall correctly, they're factory blemish quality... surprised they ever made it to retail.

I get that NOS is only that way once & can be hard to find.... and things are only expensive if you don't have the money or don't need it.

I don't have that kind of money for scratched wheel caps... or even perfect caps signed by Ferdinand.

What makes a hobby not fun... is feeling like you're giving you're first born son to get a part to complete your project. Knocks the wind out of your sails. But, whoever buys those caps will be ok with their purchase and has more money than sense.

In the past, they have sold for $150 or more as NOS on this forum. At $150 members have snatched them up within minutes of posting. Very rare to find as NOS with packaging for authenticity. On Ebay, a more realistic price has been $300 - $350 on the low end. That is what they will run if you can actually get someone to part with them. Hope this helps.

Thanks tweet. I could see why an NOS set would get snapped up at $150 when a repro set is just a fuzz less.

Still looking...
Picked up four Al Reed refinished Fuchs last weekend from a very cool member here... would love to get some orig. caps for them.

Side note:
I got a little interested in NOT buggering up nice caps & came across this thread:

Free bump for a great looking factory 914 fuch.
If Al Reed refinish them, he also anodized the wheels for ease of cleaning too.
Good luck with your hunt
