I usually frequent the 914 world classified section only so I may late to the party but how about a 914 R Gruppe. Something for the modified 914 owners. Maybe a gathering (I'm on the "right" coast) Drives, tech sessions, T shirts, decals etc.
Just a thought. If one already exist, sign me up. |

I guess I don't get it. Many times I see threads putting down the "big buck" 911 and 356 crowd and the snobbiness that is associated with some of those communities. Yet at the same time I see many threads expressing hope that our teeners will skyrocket in value and fund our retirements, or arguments why our cars should be worth such values, but yet with those types of prices, groups like R Gruppe are bound to occur; then the threads will start voicing complaints about how our rough and tumble, close-knit group of comraddes have become snobs.
I'm part of regular crowd that just doesn't play well with others. I've been chastised about mods to my 914 and 911 (but also been complimented) and I'm the odd man out in my regular group of car friends who prefer pasta over brats with their Ferraris and Lambos, most of them modified to some extent and also don't fit in well with their respective owner communities. To all of us it's about our interest in cars and friendship, not about originality or exclusivity. Do we need an R Gruppe or similar? Come hang out in Hershey then get back with us... And that's not gas on top of the cooler (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) |
