Has anyone out there done a 914 rat rod, or have any photos of an example?
You know the "Steam Punk" look. |

Had a thought which to me would be very cool and Rat Roddish....
Steel GT flares TIG welded on, but do not grind or cover up the welds, just light coat of paint so welds are visible yet protected. |

I found a nice-ish yellow one that needs a paint job, I'm thinking that since its a one color car, just knocking down/wet sand w really fine sand-paper. Then spray out with clear to protect area that have exposed metal. That would be a patina rat look. I'd weld in flares n grind out n clear coat. I'm looking for a picture I have of a 356 that has new fenders/wheel openings tacked in n ground smooth & in bare metal. The fit-up is exquisite and really cool looking. Tig welds would look pretty awesome in clear coat. |
