Got the electrical box installed. Have a bunch of cleaning up to do. Straightening up the wires and I can put the plenums back in, install the fan box. Maybe get start up tomorrow.

Nice to be able to see all the colors in the box. Its always been so dark in there.

Working on the car. Tried to start her, out of fuel. Have some on hand, fill her up and try again. When I moved her I was at the end of an oil change and checking all the new hoses for leaks and I was topping off the oil. After all that I have some questions about wiring in the new yellow box. Back to work.
Well I got start up, smoking like hell. Check all the new hose connections, found 2 that needed tightening. Not a real leak, just a drip at the bottom of the conection. Oil finally showing on the dip stick. I don't want to call the coolers done, cause that always makes me wrong
I still need to check out turning the engine off. It stopped after start up but it hadn't gotten warm yet. I really want to see it stop when I turn the key off

I never should have opened my mouth. Did I mention smoke, more than I have ever seen. So, in thinking about it, I had just put about 2 quarts of oil higher in the car than the oil level in the oil in the engine. Somehow, I feel I need to get the mass of the oil lower or as low as the oil return line to the dry sump. I'll have to look at the area inside the diffuser. I'm thinking about moving the fans and the radiators.

I have no excuse, I am sorry about my absence here, I'll try to be better in the future.

I am continuly doing something for her but mostly it seems to me small stuff with very little progress shown. I have moved the coolers and installed a backflow device so it should eliminate the smoke problem. It still needs some finishing touches. Tying up the hoses and the oil thermostat to make sure they don't cause problems.

Inside of the rear trunk I moved the coolers and hoses lower in the body which meant have space set up for another set of coolers. Hello transmission cooler. A really good idea but will be a long time before I get there. I got some surprises for that but can't happen until the tranny comes apart.

Update, changing the name oof my race car.

Attached Image

I was looking for a place to put this (illegal) plate and today I was doing some maintenance on the diffuser and thought that it would look great right in the middle of the diffuser.
There it is, a visual representation of my imagination. I must say that I've had a lot of help from the board here.
Currently working on the mounting of the diffuser. The 4 quick release buttons are giving me a headache but I'm getting it done.

So I have been working on the diffuser latch pins for days. Today they seem to be cooperating. I'm getting everything lined up well and it just seems it's really close, I've been thinking close for months.

The diffuser is mounted, completely. Today I refined the recivers by grinding them flush and beveling the inner edges of the riceiver hole. Adjusting all the latch pins took days, seriously. Had to change my approach to the problems and rethink my bracketing. 2 of my brackets were accessible and easily adjusted while the other 2 were stupid. I thought a saw an easy way out, yeah right. Now I need to regress too the point I was before the smoke. Tightening up the oil cooler hoses and tying them down and topping off the oil in the dry sump.

Shaping a corner.

Hoping the curvature shows.
Looks good. Next move, mount the diffuser and do some more fitting.

I'm playing catch-up on a domino effect caused by the diffuser. I lost the use of four bolts on the radiator brackets. Clarencing for those bolts weakened the brace and it broke. The new brace is in , the diffuser is much stouter and it fits much better.

With the transmission cooler radiators installed I can do the hose tightening. It seems like no matter how I claim to do it I still get drips. I still need to tie the hoses down near the engine at the shock tower.

Attached Image

I started at the far end and am working towards the sump. Currently just finished the radiators.

Can you Imagine this???? I'm sure you don't have one on your car. That little piece of brass is the reciver for half of the front mount for the diffuser. Now we're talking SEX here as it is the only part on the car that actually gets any penetration. Once upon a time I took Figment to a friends too show him and try to motivate him too do something to his teener. I forgot about having the diffuser on and it got damaged. One of the strakes got slamed on a bump. . It took a 90° bend and showed me how long they should be.

Attached Image

I'm sorry but your going to have to blow up the pic to see the mount well.

So I have been having this ongoing problem with the push buttons. Easy to get 3 of 4, the center 2 worked with either the left or right but not together. I liked my bracketing for the centers so I applied that approach on the left one and after adjusting the 3 worked. So I made a new bracket for the right side. After 3more tries I got it. Nice to have all 4 go off at once. The Diffuser is getting very close to being finished. I have the other corner to do, the material I have is a little thicker than the one on there now. If I like it better I'll have to do the right one again. The shape of this one is awesome. Before I start on the left one I'm going to start out by annieling the hole sheet. It's T6 and I need to move some metal to try to get the same shape as the other side.

I'm getting emotional about the Figment. I'm sorry I'm prejudice but I think my work is farout

Installing 2 adel clamps on the oil lines today trying to keep the hoses from rubbing anything. Just about ready to clean up after all the work thats been done. Still have a couple of issues to cleanup. I'll work on them as I reassemble Figment.

Thanks Guy's, your support. That makes me feel good about spending so much time doing things that really make little difference. Like these corners. I'm going on attempt number 10. I'm hoping that this pattern is the final. This pattern ends at the rubber bead under the fiberglass fender.
