Hey all! Just a reminder that the Route 66 Classic is coming up in less than 3 weeks. If you don't know what this is, check out the details here.
Here's the list of folks who will be making it as far as I know. If you are not on this list or I've got your status wrong, please chime in here. I'd like to give the folks at the diner an estimate for breakfast on Saturday. Toast (Moved just for John!) VegasRacer ThinAir914 Howard 3d914 Hi_Fi_Guy (possibly) Joe Sharp SLITS Gint mrmeade Chris914n6 FlatVW (possibly) Mike9142.0 914RS (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) - well we've been trying to convince Joe that his job isn't really as important as making a 914 event, but he hasn't actually said he'll be there Rick918-S (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) - not really - but Rick seems to make it to all the other 914 events, why is he skipping this one? There's still room for more (in fact there's no limit), so if you can make it - come on! (Oh yeah - NO TRACK FEES either!) This post has been edited by ThinAir914: May 25 2005, 11:18 AM |

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) well... My clutch just started slipping a little worse this week. I'm thinking it probably wouldnt be too good of an idea to drive up ANY hills (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif) especially that many miles from home.
Sorry guys. I will eventually get out with you all. |

It takes about 2 hours to change a clutch including coffee, tea, coke, or milk breaks.....for beer, add one hour......Sorry, the excuse doesn't fly. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/dry.gif)
And I like my shirt (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/finger.gif) |

You're kidding right? You're in Arizona anyway? Drive the Speedster. Drive a Pontiac. Hell, I'll be driving a rental pickup truck. |

I've got the time... it's that a new clutch is 400 and a new flywheel is 300 --- And if I'm going to yank the engine, I might as well fix the battery tray rust and firewall rust at the same time...
I would definately drive the speedster but the engine is already out of that... waiting for cash to flow again as I have had a machined case waiting to build the 2275 for it since January! I lost my job in Jan that brought me to Phoenix.. had to sell my 02 Silverado and had worked temporarily at a place making crappy money until just last week. I am now with BankOne and should be back to good in a few weeks. And... since my little beaters arent going north, I've agreed to drive a friends TA up to a thirdgen.org meet while he drives is Camaro. Sorry guys. But seriously, Tell me you dont get together on a regular basis anyway.. c'mon... i know how this car addiction is. we dont do it by ourselves. |

OK I'm finally chiming in on this one here. LuckieO and I are one step closer to being able to come to Flagstaff. We finally got some guys to trade us shifts at work, so we now have Saturday off. We need to get Luck's shift on Friday night covered, so we can be there for breakfast... We're working on it... (Talk about last minute!)
Joe (914RS) won't know if he'll be able to come until the morning of, most likely. We'll keep working on it! How could we miss a gathering only 6 hours away? |

Cool! Hopefully it will all come together so that you can make it. I'm getting really psyched about the weekend. My car is officially back on the road tonight after a test drive with my wife. The new engine ran soooo sweet and when I pushed it up to 90 the car was as smooth as one could want. It's been so long I'd forgotten just how great it is to drive this teener. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif) Just looking at the list of who will be coming is enough to get me excited about Saturday. This is gonna be fun! F150 XLT is rented, EconoLodge in Williams is booked. Orange Saturday night to pick up my new motor and drop wheels off with Al Reed. Sunday night at Eric Shea's in UT to drop off calipers and pedal cluster and pick up what's left of a front clip.
Can you say road trip? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/driving.gif) |
