I like this idea. Would give me another inch of seat travel without the seat squeeking on the back pad. I don't even use my interior light, so no loss there. My car has an led strip under the dash which is adequate for lighting. The perlon is pretty easy to fit and imho looks great. |

I covered mine with Dynamat then perlon. I love the look...much more clean, imho.
Of course, I have taken my whole interior down to a much more simple level. Attached thumbnail(s) |

Great. I was wondering if it covered the entire back. From window to floor. Bought the kit you referenced and installed this weekend. Attached thumbnail(s) |

I laid 1/8” foam underneath and was able to lay it down nicely. Trimmed off about 2” excess from the top

I love the perlon, but was wondering if anyone's done similar with a square weave carpet, to match the flooring?

I haven’t seen a square weave. Square weave is pretty stout and not easy to work around bends. I think of square weave as the carpet found in the 356. German weave was in our cars. Not as stout but looked similar. Could or should be able to be worked easier. 914Rubber sells it for the floor so I’m sure you could get it in bulk.

I installed on my 914, very happy with the look, very clean and feels like more room in the cockpit. Mike

I finally noticed the seats from the first page. Who makes these and what model are they? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I like that kit fit. Does anyone make a cover for the seatbelt roll?

I really like the look of the perlon covered firewall. I did it on my car but a little differently. I covered the firewall with dynamat, and instead of gluing the perlon directly to the firewall, I covered the backed structure.
I started out with a back pad that needed recovering. Removed the vinyl covering and the foam. Refreshed and repaired the back pad panels with fiberglass, and then covered it with perlon (actually trunk lining material purchased from the local upholstery store). The lining material is a bit lighter than the perlon and easily follows the contour of the back pad. I think it really looks good. Bill. |

Update- completed changing the backpad to perlon. I really like the rubber strip at the top. what is it and where did you get it? and how did you attach it? ^^^^This. The rubber really makes it look like a clean install. Is it carpet edging? Greg W. |
