Hi everybody,

I just got off the phone a few minutes ago (5:30 PM EST) with Steve Peters.

^Easton^ Peters passed away yesterday afternoon at 12:30. He was 2 1/2 years old.

Steve said Easton was peaceful when he passed.

Easton had been in the hospital for a month after contracting viral pneuomnia. When the brought him to the hospital he had 2 heart failures. That along with, the pneumonia and his already underlying medical condition proved too much for his little body. He gradually weakened over the past months and a team of heroic doctors did all they could to try and pull Easton through.

Steve & Sherida (and baby brother Markus) are back home and are preparing a Memorial service for him (probably the week after next). He said he would post information as it is finalized.

I told him what we (the 914club community did) regarding Easton's fund and he was... well... shocked.

I told him that, by all means, to use the funds we gathered to help pay for ^Easton^'s burial.

He wanted to know what they could do to thank us all... and I simply told him that no one expected anything.

We are a community of more than just car nuts... we are a caring, compasionate, family.

Regards,

Qarl

P.S. I have been obviously involved in number of special needs forums since my son Hunter was born. When ever a child passes away, people sometimes encapsulate the child's name in "^" symbols... as in ^Easton^

These represent angel's wings.

Good Bless You ^Easton^

I don't have words enough.

I hope our deeds can help lift some of the burden.. there's alot of love in here.. I just hope it's enough, I hope something is enough.. to help Steve, and Sherida find peace, with his passing.

I'm so sorry.

QUOTE (Qarl @ Jun 12 2005, 03:57 PM)
He wanted to know what they could do to thank us all...

There isn't a damn thing they could do, or any reason to thank anyone here... There is no reason they need to thank anyone except who brought Easton to them for his short, precious life.

This fucking sucks (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/headbang.gif)

I can only hope that little ^Easton^ is in the most magnificent place that any of us could possibly imagine... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/sad.gif)

^Easton^ put up a valiant fight. My heart hurts for Steve and Sher.

It's important to his family that ^Easton^'s memory remains close and vivid and will not fade in time. To lose someone so young, loving and trusting is a profoundly personal and wrenching loss.

May he always be remembered as a vital, carefree and healthy little boy.

I'm so sorry.

I am very saddened, words fail me. There is nothing worse than a childs death. Easton, I know you have seen the face of God and are at peace. Pray for your mom and dad, as we will. They need it.
