Both my '73 and '71 have crummy rubber adjustable side mirrors. what did the originals look like. I have seen pictures with round and rectangle and although both of my cars have (2) mirrors, I think the originals only had (1)

There's a thread around here that shows the inside of the mirror. It's the metal case, a clear-ish soft plastic spacer, the glass, and the black retaining ring. The thread might be in the Parts Vault forum?

we make the black surround in 5 and 5.25 out of a silicone mold so it works but is not so pretty

Does anyone make the white spacers. They seem to have a shorter lifespan than the black surround. Most of mine have crumbled away.
