Four lug? Hard to beat the factory Fuchs in standard finishes or original Minilites. Then again, tires can really sell a wheel on an NB 914—I seem to recall an orange 914-4 track car slammed on a set of late steelies with gray lips, black centers, and 205/50s (or similar) that looked fantastic.
Five lug? Depends on the car a bit, but I think deep sixes or 7Rs are the ones... |

15" 5 bolt fuchs and 15" cookies, 2nd pic is the 4 bolt EMPI Sprint Stars rims that came on my car. I liked the look, but they were heavy steel, the Sprint Star repops are aluminum.
BTW the 914 with fuchs and the 914 with sprint stars is the same car, quite a colour difference between cameras. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-26-1549651741.jpg) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads/post-2-1111562820.jpg) |

If the Fuchs need to be refurbished, Al Reed is amazing.

For 4 lug, it's tough to beat the early steel wheels... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/bringatrailer.com-20876-1549732686.1.jpg) But I think the best looking wheels on a 914 are the classic 5 lug Fuchs... I'll cast my vote for Minilites or similar. Dont care for the 4 lug Fuchs at all.

Minilites, Fuchs are just too played out and not worth the money people are asking for them these days.

Real minilites, in the 5 bolts the panosports and other place a lug hole in the spoke. Looks like (IMG:style_emoticons/default/barf.gif) Only a real minilite did it right.
After that Mahle gas burners I do have a soft spot for 944 cup magnesium phone dials, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/screwy.gif) I have this odd (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wub.gif) for Magnesium wheels |
