Four lug? Hard to beat the factory Fuchs in standard finishes or original Minilites. Then again, tires can really sell a wheel on an NB 914—I seem to recall an orange 914-4 track car slammed on a set of late steelies with gray lips, black centers, and 205/50s (or similar) that looked fantastic.

Five lug? Depends on the car a bit, but I think deep sixes or 7Rs are the ones...

15" 5 bolt fuchs and 15" cookies, 2nd pic is the 4 bolt EMPI Sprint Stars rims that came on my car. I liked the look, but they were heavy steel, the Sprint Star repops are aluminum.
BTW the 914 with fuchs and the 914 with sprint stars is the same car, quite a colour difference between cameras. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

For 4 lug, it's tough to beat the early steel wheels...

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/uploads_offsite/bringatrailer.com-20876-1549732686.1.jpg)

But I think the best looking wheels on a 914 are the classic 5 lug Fuchs...

I'll cast my vote for Minilites or similar. Dont care for the 4 lug Fuchs at all.

Minilites, Fuchs are just too played out and not worth the money people are asking for them these days.

I have no idea as to the manufacturer of these wheels, but I like them a lot. Bet they are a bear to keep clean, though.

Look like campagnolo. Rare to see but a great looking wheel on a 914.

We have a bunch at the shop including 15x10 & 15x12. I think they came from a crashed 911ST.
