For me mid-70's, I'm walking home from high school, this /6 with GT flair and the car was a rat rod in grey primer, it was on my home town main drag and the guy was honking on it. I actually didn't know it was a 914 till I saw a 914 with GT flairs up close a few years later.
It was pure sex, I was 13-14yrs/old, I probably went home and spanked one off to a car. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/av-943.gif) |

Mid 70’s my neighbor had a 914-4. My dad had a hopped up bug with dual Weber’s, 3/4 cam, etc. people in the neighborhood would ask my dad if he had a Porsche motor in his bug, because it sounded like the neighbors Porsche 914. In 79, I bought my first 914 which was a 71 914-4. That same neighbor traded his four for a real six. He gave me a ride in it and I had to have one. In 1986 I built my six out of a 75 and put in a 2.7. I still have the car.
