Dude I was out the door at 7:40AM to meet Jason at PickNPull, got a door glass from an RX7 to test fit. Close but almost is not good enough! Found alternatives but will post on the side glass thread tomorrow...
Jon came by with the fender from MarkD, guess we won't need it? I'm planning a BBQ for a few of us, maybe when MarkD can travel to our side of the country. I wanted to see Elmer's car run today but can't afford the time and gas. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) |

you could always go w/ the model paint, that comes in an small aerosol can, available at hobby shops. it's used to tint the windows on models. works fine for lenses. a few buddies did this w/ their corner lenses and rear lenses. |

7:40? dang.. last time I did that for pick n pull was their half price day where we got 2 engines' (944 and a sbc) a trani (944) numerous 944 parts, and ect....
It sucks that you cant find the right window glass.... Its a one in a million chance... I dont think we need the fender. If a worse case senario you dont like how the fenders are, I could start over and just do a really small flare and give you the drivers side loose fender and do the same with that other one. Let me know when the bbq is, I'd like to come, but I have a busy work/school schedule. |

Are you still coming prior to the 24th to pick up the f/g fender?
I want to get Mark's opinion based on alot of your pics...can you email hi-res directly to him? Since it's just sitting I may plan to transport Neo914-6 to Napa to get the rear flares finished and fronts welded so they can be primered... Attached image(s) |

you're g/f's pics are cute... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)
I forgot we are using your fenders, not the ones I cut off the parts car. It presents a problem of where they will be cut. Usually donor fenders are cut at the channel so the weld is hidden. If you cut them where HPH are usually cut, a seam will be on the signal light channel. Got any ideas? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif) Maybe Mark has some... |

alrighty... lol
I cant seem to get an email to mark, could you forward the pics (of the car... lol) to him? I could try those other fenders again... They would probably need some finessing when they are welded to the car though.... (I could get those done in no time... seriously... with little flare, its a piece of cake. Just giving it a flat lip and making it look flush) Refer to the pics earlyer in the thread. How much more flare do you want from that fender? Its probably a 1/2 in right now. You running 225's up front? LMK. Andrew |

Well, if you're considering the cut-off fenders the flare can be fairly shallow and the wheel lip flattened.
How do your metal shaped flares compare to the HPH? I mentioned the 8" wide Technos when pointed straight are flush to the body. I'll send a pic of the wheels straight tomorrow. I'll forward the pics to Mark (along with your g/f"s) (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/laugh.gif) He may attend the 24th meet and then drive down to see my car... |

My metal shaped flares were very similar to the hph flares, about a half inch in flare difference non mounted just over lapped..
I'll lay it on and take a pic.. LET me put a fore mention, I thought you would be cutting the fender to fit and welding the difference grinding the seams down. BUT if your NOT doing that I must say that my front end has a bit of damage on the drivers side, it was repaired but shoddy. you should be able to see in one of the pics where the bondo is. Andrew |

Andrew,
Email Mark pics of the off-car flares, his email is correct but you need to zip and limit the number of pics (~7). Let's see if we can make them work. The on-car won't work or will require too much work. If we can't use either set, I'll still trade the HPH flare for your work... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif) |
