S4 and later 928’s are pretty complicated beasts but everything‘s there for a reason and if you take your time to trace stuff it actually isn’t that bad.

Good progress Ben!

My biggest issue was there was nothing for me to trace so it was all guess work and pictures online.

Big progress. I have everything buttoned up except the new FPR and the dampers. Waiting for a nicer day to allow the garage doors to be open for venting. Still need to figure out the fuel pump but I spent a bunch of time on just finishing up odds and ends.. I think I might have a leak at the water bridge which sucks but I did miss one coolant connection initially so it maybe residual. If I need to put a new o ring in the bridge what am I looking at for taking that apart? Is that intake off or?Attached Image Attached Image

nice work, looks great, water bridge can be done with intake in place, but I wouldn't recommend if you have not had those bolts out before, access is very poor and they tend to seize in the block, so need careful / not angled removal / heat etc.

once you have done putting the intake back 2-3 times it gets easy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif)

Well the Water bridge turns out was not leaking. I have the TPS and the CPS plugs Swapped but now with it correct it runs pretty darn well. Stay tuned for more updates. It super quiet which I don't think I like on this car.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) .... yep they where of a time when quite was better, xpipe and rear muffler delete are popular mods which are less of a commitment than headers

This would probably sound better with a set of Marty's headers but it is definately NOT a Chevy! The tone from the throttle body is awsome when it blips open.

Those headers would probably work on the Alien the way they are pointed in at each other... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/idea.gif)

Love to find more HP out of our 79 928... we have a Borla muffler but everything else is stock.

Here is a another Chevy (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) with a much milder Lingenfelter C7, hooker headers, Borla mufflers to quiet it down.

4.5 or 4.7? get a 5.0 short block cut the pistons for 16 valve heads and get euro heads, cams and intake. That combo make 350+ hp from the stock 218 in the US version. Not a chevy.

Isn’t that the way 928’s work? Fix one thing, another breaks.

My dad had a Jag in the 70’s so I’ve seen the the revolving door of repairs. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/headbang.gif)

Not my experience unless the car was severely neglected. These are extremely well built, albeit slightly complicated, cars.
