Lucky coincidence?

You mean the plate ? If so,no luck, we can choose the numbers in Germany so I chose that plate (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I was mostly referring to the plate numbers but also great that it went though a German inspection with no issues. Not an easy feat to accomplish (IMG:style_emoticons/default/aktion035.gif)

Big tour this weekend with the local karmann ghia club. As my ghia still isn't finished, I drove with the 914. Super nice people, great roads, and the 914 behaved perfectly during the 1100kms, no matter how warm it was!
Couple pictures :

Thanks Guys!

So, not so much news, I am just enjoying the car a lot.
One thing I always wanted to improve was the driver's seat, it is not holding me enough in curves.. now I am improving it!
Old Kamei seat:

Next to the car:

And first check there:

I really love the look of it and how I fit in there. Sure not for tall guys but perfect for me!

Sweet. I have a soft spot for “custom” seats and that one is very cool!

I wanted since the beginning to have the GT door panel with the leather door strap so..as usual, I decided to build it myself!
Some wood, some aluminium and the structure is there:

Mounted the leather strap and suppressing the extra spring:

A bit of leather and:

Voilà !

I just love the look !

When I first built my six, I bought Koenig 914 seats, kinda like the ones you have. They were black vinyl with red piping. So I had my door panels and dash done up black with red piping to match them.

Then I drove the car. The seats sucked. They were hard to get in and out of, and the angle they sat on the seat tracks meant I spent the whole time straining my neck to see out. They aren't designed for people my size.

So I had a set of stock seats recovered in black with red piping. And I sold the Koenig seats. But they live on in my interior color scheme. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
