With no door bracing from what I can see, what are you doing to prevent twisting while welding? thank you for your advice. I will do it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) for the moment I'm cleaning the floor from the rust |

I would like to know what is the best alternative to restore my 914/6 and increase its selling value.
Keep engine stock or performance rebuild? |

Khaled, Not sure what the attitude is in your part of the world but since you do not have the original motor anyway, I would think a 2.2 or 2.4 carbureted S motor would be an “attractive” choice.
What motor came in most ‘72 sixes from the factory? |

Given the extensive metalwork that your car has needed and the approach you've taken you should feel free to go with a higher performance engine. Without the original engine you have good reason to do as you like. |

Since your original 2.0 911 T motor is gone (sadly) the replacement depends upon what your finances can handle. I think any of the 911 motors are terrific in these cars. Of course a bit of horsepower/torque in a 914 is always fun. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

Number matched cars always fetch more money. If you put a different engine in the car, keep the original engine to sell with the car.

I found the original engine 901/38 642... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smilie_pokal.gif) . that is why I asked you if a keep it stock or performance Please tell how you connected with the original engine. Was it in Algeria ? As for stock or modified I'd correct the known faults of that era engine and modify it without changing the block beyond return to stock. Build a 2.0S or a 2.2 S |

Build a 2.0S or a 2.2 S I asked the former owner where the engine was exchanged. luckily the mechanic is still there. Then the engine was sold in France and since it stayed with the same owner. I asked Mittlemotor for an upgrade, they told me its possible to increase it power to 200/220 HP |

The blue circled hole is not original. The green circled hole is for the fuel pump wire.
Don't loose the two hole plugs they're hard to find. The single fuel supply hose for a 6 goes through the open oval hole with a black tubing grommet. |

Red circle = factory plugged rain tray drain? On a 1972 914-6 maybe they left them stamped, then plugged them?

Red circle = factory plugged rain tray drain? On a 1972 914-6 maybe they left them stamped, then plugged them? They were plugged on all 6s....no rain tray Only one fuel delivery on a 6, other oval hole plugged in engine tray The oval nylon plug is a tough one to find. |
