Why didn't he run it up to 7 grand? Do you have a rev limiter? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/confused24.gif)

3.0L RoW motor was only 204HP DIN so you're right there after adding 15% back in for driveline loss.
Couldn't tell if you hot rodded it or not so you definately gave us a fun time guessing. Very cool! As you state, it's all about the smile it puts on your face. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif) And, to top that off, your car looks amazing! |

It doesn't take much to make these cars feel fast (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
A lot of people think 200whp in a 914 is slow until they actually feel it..... Congrats! |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/agree.gif) All about weight to power ratio. 200HP in a 2000 lb car puts you at 10:1. A very respectable number. Especially in a mid-70's vintage car. Ferrari Testarossa is around 9.7:1 70's / 80's supercars like an early Lambo were around 8:1 or a smidge lower. Late 90's sport bikes 4:1 or lower Koenigsegg One:1 is the mythical 1:1 |

@PanelBilly- can you please explain how you arrived at these numbers ?
Perhaps I missed something but it looks like the dyno says 176 hp and you say that the correct guess was 185hp (at the crank?) - so that would mean a parasitic loss of only approx. 5% ( if the 176hp number is real wheel horsepower ) - correct ? |

185 was the closest guess to 176. Wish it was a way bigger number. I read that the clutch and transmission can reduce the engine HP by 15%, but I don't have a way to really measure that. I just used the number the shop gave me
