Like the fuel pump cover Tom. Mine is out in the open and I wonder if it should be covered. Seems a bit of a hazard, but then, I never put anything up front that would disturb it other than a bicycle wheel.

I did it for the correct vintage look. Most of the "factory" GT's have a cover similar to this one.

Looking great Tom
I'm a big fan of Minilites, especially those period perfect fifteen inchers.
The Michelins are icing on the cake. Beautiful !
Excellent !

Thanks Rory

I love the 15" Minilites also. I know the "correct" look is with Fuchs on the front, but I just couldn't warm up to mixing wheel types front to rear.

I have the Michelin 15" TB's on my RSR clone. The 15's give a much smoother street ride that the 16" Hoosiers I used on the track.

Slow progress at Auto Associates as some vacations and other projects have taken priority.

The guys fabricated an oil line cover for the outside L/F wheel housing. Matches Ben's interior oil line cover.

Attached Image

The rear emblems were test fitted.

Attached Image

The sail trim was also test fitted.

Attached Image

The Minlites were painted.

Attached Image

The engine lid was test fitted and adjusted.

Attached Image

The rockers, bumpers, valence, oil line covers and other accessories got the final coat of satin black.

Attached Image

The car is now ready for final paint which will hopefully happen next week. After that, the exterior trin will be added along with the final body panels and glass. This will be followed by the interior sound deadening and carpeting. After that, the car will go to the mechanical section of the shop for final engine tuning, clutch and shifter adjustments and 4-wheel alignment and corner balancing. Hopefully no surprises along the way.

Finally painted yesterday. Will look great when the sail panel is painted satin black and the black rockers, bumper and valences are installed along with the Michelins & Miniltes. Getting closer!

Looks great Tom.
You have the same idea that I've kept 'secret' for years.
Instead of that big, fat, overweight, fussy vinyl covering on the sail panels just
paint them with textured semi gloss black.
Easy, cheep and light. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Looking great.

Tony...WOW!

That's my vision for my car. Beautiful. Makes me think about adding the rocker stripes.

Is it your' car? What is the color? Looks very much like my Lizard Green.

Thanks for sharing.

Rory

That's the plan. We are thinking satin with no texture. Seems like the "factory" GT cars had a mix of textured and non-textured.

Thx Tom - the color is apparently hand puppet green.

Not really. Its a '74 911 color, Gelbgrun or "yellow green".

Pls keep the posts coming on your build, lots of great GT details and jewellry in there!

More progress at Auto Associates. The paint has been buffed and the wheels & tires along with the front and rear bumpers & rocker panels have all been mounted. It is starting look like a car and a stunning one at that! I am loving the green against the black accents. The Minilites with the Michelin TB’s give it a cool period look. The ugly temporary muffler will be replaced by a three outlet ralley style muffler finished in black ceramic coating.

Next up the doors, glass and front & rear lids will be installed along with the trim. The firewall and longitudinals will get sound deadening and the interior will be trimmed in GT style felt carpeting. Once all the exterior and interior finishing work is completed, the car will go to the mechanical end of the shop for final engine tuning, clutch and shifter adjustment and 4 wheel alignment with corner balancing.
