Thanks guys. I can't wait to get the car on the road and enjoy some summer and fall driving in New England.

More progress at Auto Associates the past couple of weeks. The car is looking great as the various body panels are being installed. The photos show the amazing wok by Ken and his team.

The next big tasks are the interior carpeting, the door hardware and glass. Looking great!

Wow...I can't believe it has been mid-May since my last update. The carpeting has been installed and Ken is now in the process of finishing up the interior.

We chose black felt carpeting similar to what was used on the original GT's.

The center tunnel carpet piece will be installed after the shifter linkage and heater lever have had the final adjustments.

The door release straps on the 914 are a little trickier than on a 911. Ken has this sorted out.

We also had some trim carpeting made for the rear trunk as well as some custom floor mats.

Ken plans to finish the interior, the door glass, trim and door panels along with the front and rear windshields over the next week. The car then will move to the front of the shop for final mechanical completion including the GT muffler, clutch and shifter adjustments, final engine tuning and corner balance 4-wheel alignment. If all goes according to plan, I could be on the road sometime in August.

Thanks Guys

We had the rear carpet custom made to fit around the oil catch tank and the floor mats were made to fit around Ben's oil line cover. The upholstery guy does great work.

Really coming along beautifully, Tom! Can you provide specifics on your roll bar, please?

I need to either modify the factory style hoop we have or fabricate something else to clear the top latches. Thanks!

The roll bar is the GT style roll bar from Tangerine Racing. We added diagonals for extra stiffening and protection. A fit Check has shown that there is ample room to operate the Targa latches with this design.

The roll bar has been installed and there is plenty of room for the Targe top and rear latches.

The window sticker is a remnant from the previous owner.
