QUOTE(redshift @ Aug 7 2005, 07:47 PM) -hint... WHERE IS THE CAR!?- you know how it is ... since i powdercoated the suspension yellow, i can't keep up with the car anymore ... it's simply too fast ... this was just a test run, making sure all the parts fit together OK. which they do. look out for my next "how to" on installing the rear mueller roller bearings and the 911 e-brake setup. once those are done, the new axles will be installed. i promise ... Yo dog,
aren't you missing the keeper thing that fits in the groove at the end of the CV and presses against the CV in pic #1? What holds the tranny side CV fast to the axle? |

Is there a reason you did not use the 944 axles? Were they too long? Nice pictures (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

Anyone have a part cost breakdown? What do the early flanges go for used? Can you use non-turbo 944 stuff? ie, axle flange, CV's, etc.....?

He he, word player. I noticed Mikey's lathing to fix the prob too. Thanks for putting all of this stuff up for everyone. Someday I wanna do this conversion. I wish that I would not have sold my early 911 hubs (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/rolleyes.gif)

Andy, what is the diameter of the C/V's? 100mm or 108mm?
Answered my own question. 100mm from Part II! |

Good job Andy!
Two questions come to mind; 1st- Is the 944 stub & 914 stub axle the same overal lenght? 2nd- Does the 944 Cv have the same articulation as the 914 CV. Cheers Stephane |
