This guy, Al Reed. All I can do is bitch about him.

First, he accepted some wheels and said he'd do work at a particular price. Then, he actually charged that amount! How dare he? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/blink.gif)

When the order was changed - he didn't complain. He didn't even charge to change the order for custom work. In fact, he didn't charge up front for the additional labor. He just happily added powdercoating to the wheels. Quality work, no less! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/screwy.gif)

Then, when I get the wheels, he polished them so brightly that I swear I'm going to go blind. I think I can find him liable, maybe. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/idea.gif)

To make matters even worse, the work was accomplished EARLY! The packing and shipping was WAY FASTER than I was told about. He shipped without even getting paid for shipping up front. And then... his wife, Diane, had the nerve to treat me nicely on the phone. Aren't vendors supposed to grumble and complain and act as if 914 owners are a waste of their time, because they haggle over the price of a 10 dollar part? (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wacko.gif) I was actually told that 4-bolt Fuchs were their favorite wheel to polish because they came out the best. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/bs.gif) I was even given good technical advice on the phone, too. What's the world coming to?

Doing business without getting screwed? As a 914 owner, I'm entitled to get f'd over when I order parts or whatnot!!! How dare he not send me a tube of KY! I don't know what I'm going to do about this... but there must be something I can do.

// rant over //

P.S. Al and Diane Reed and Mike Ginter... thanks. They're GORGEOUS. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/drunk.gif)

Alright....I'm going to ask the admins to delete all threads showing wheels that Al has polished. Every time I see them it reminds me of how shoddy mine look. I could have paid the same amount and had Al do them. If only I had heard his name two years ago!! Good idea on the powder coat! Your wheels look great!

Al's place - Good prices, great customer service, and fantastic product!!! (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smilie_pokal.gif)

Only problem with that shop is, if you go by there on one of the days that they are dealing with customers instead of just working in the shop, you best plan to spend an hour. Al and Dianne like to talk to customers and they are a lot of fun to talk to, you won't be able to get out of there. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smile.gif)

Lawrence? Lawrence who? Those wheels look like crap, send them to me postage paid and I will dispose of them for you. No club member here should have to tolerate that kind of treatment, I appologize for your inconvenience and will take this matter up myself.

Good to see you back again posting Rusty!!!

The new job is not as much as I want but it takes time. It will be what I want in the next few years, I cant start at the top, right? Sometimes it is fun though, yesterday, I got to drive brand new Toyota's off the ship, fell in love with the little Scion tC with a stick shift. I am thinking about buying one. We will see. Glad you are posting again.
