The car is a street car with an occasional AX. 19mm Master cylinder, ATE 320i front calipers, stock 914/4 rear. I have rubber brake hoses.
I'll check everything but the plan is not to open the lines just pump the new stuff through. I can't remember what is currently in there but it was new just prior to WCC 04. Dave |

Hardly ATe is a good brake fluid.. nothing really special about it other than the color. Another "good" brake fluid is the Valvoline SynPower brake fluid, it has specs close to Ate blue/gold and is cheaper. Among the "best" brake fluids is Castro SRF $65/qt we use it in the racecars. Unless your really stressing your brakes Id go with the Valvoline FYI: DRY:401F -- WET:284F --- DOT3 MINIMUM DRY:570F -- WET:284F --- WILWOOD 570 DRY:570F -- WET:284F --- PERFORMANCE Friction Z rated DRY:550F -- WET:284F --- FORD HEAVY DUTY DOT 3 DRY:527F -- WET:302F --- AP RACING 551 DRY:446F -- WET:311F --- DOT4 MINIMUM DRY:527F -- WET:347F --- VALVOLINE SYNPOWER DOT3 & DOT4 DRY:500F -- WET:356F --- DOT5.1 MINIMUM (GLYCOL BASE) DRY:500F -- WET:356F --- DOT5 MINIMUM (SILICONE BASE) DRY:536F -- WET:392F --- ATE SUPERBLUE/TYP200 DRY:601F -- WET:399F --- BREMBO LCF 600 PLUS DRY:590F -- WET:410F --- AP RACING 600 DRY:626F -- WET:417F --- WILWOOD EXP 600 DRY:593F -- WET:420F --- MOTUL RBF600 DRY:610F -- WET:421F --- NEO SYNTHETICS SUPER DOT 610 DRY:610F -- WET:421F --- PROSPEED GS610 DRY:590F -- WET:518F --- CASTROL SRF |

Motul is a good fluid, BUT if your using the Motul fluid I suspect.. you cant think about using another fluid to top up, and Motul recommends a complete flush of the old fluid before adding Motul..
Also if you maintain your brakes properly, you can ignore the wet boiling point |

I bleed my brakes before every event. So the fluid is always fresh Motul (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mueba.gif)
