Hey all,

I just wanted to send out a sincere Thank you to all involved in the purchase/pick up of my first 914.

Joe thanks for hosting the place to meet. Good BBQ, good Beer and good people

Howard,
The car made it home running very, very well. After a few days of looking at it closer I am indeed Extremely pleased with my purchase. Thanks again Howard for making the purchase a simple task. Also, thank you for the box of goodies that you threw in.....

Thanks to the rest of you that came forward with parts and supplies.

(IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/mad.gif) You have to wait for at least one month after mine is complete. I want to be faster than Waide for just a little bit. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/wink.gif)

Of course...since the engine is soon to be on the way....you are welcome to do my conversion while waiting for Liz's parts. Just an idea.....just throwin' it out there......just thinkin' out loud.....just a little brainstorming. Besides, how busy could you possibly be assembling every nut and bolt on her car? I've done nothing to it really yet. I plan on dropping the muffler and painting it black, so it'll be all one color. I also looked into tinting the windows and I thought about looking into replacing the speakers........NOTHING really technical yet. We'll work our way into that. hehe

Thanks again Howard (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/pray.gif)

If you EVER need a reference, feel free to PM me. Very easy to work with

OK, I have two options for you:

1. You can give me the car now and take delivery in early August.

-or-

2. You can give me the car in July and take delivery in early August.

Your choice. (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/cool.gif)

I heard that engine when you fired it up to leave and you were warming it up.

Just idling away with a perfect sound and a bit of a lumpy yet elequent sound.

I don't pretend to know more than any good back yard mechanic by listening to stuff.

BUT....

That engine sounded like it had a cam that wasn't stock.

The whole engine sounded Extremely good.

If I had to make a guess. That little sucker runs better than you or anyone guessed when you picked it up.

Anyway. Thats was my sniff after listening to your engine run for about a minute.

Am i right.?????

You are indeed right..... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/smiley_notworthy.gif)

Rumor has it.....it was rebuilt by "Skip"....Brad Roberts knows of him, I'm new to the board, so you all might know him, but anyway it was built by "Skip" who has notes on the rebuild, but has been battling with Cancer for a while and I'm not sure how to get ahold of him........

Howard did a bunch of research and talked to a PO that had the work done and said it was an upgraded cam and work had been done to the pistons (unk). It's a good running engine.

The wife thinks it's too loud, so that makes it about right..... (IMG:http://www.914world.com/bbs2/html/emoticons/biggrin.gif)
