QUOTE(Racer Chris @ Mar 22 2006, 08:03 PM) *

I've been making these stainless hard tubing replacements for OE plastic fuel lines since 1998. They are an accurate repro of the factory shape for a proper fit. 9.5mm (3/8") supply and 8mm (5/16") return lines for early 914, or 8mm (5/16") supply and return for '75-6. An additional pair of short lines for the engine compartment is also available, as well as an adapter to replace the expensive rubber reducer that connects to the pump on '70-74 4 cyl. models.
Made with beaded ends for a secure hose connection or, for the racers, -6AN male ends for Aeroquip hose attachment.
Buy individually or in complete sets, available for 4 and 6 cylinder cars as well as special Subaru Conversion lines. Installation is easy using the instructions provided.
Also available: Engine shelf grommets, firewall grommets, fuel tank sock, etc.

Full details and Paypal Shopping Cart buttons are on my webpage: Tangerine Racing Replacement Fuel Lines

Edited to update product details.

I just had a fuel line blow out after reassemblying stuff having replaced the battery tray. My question is how do I tell if I need the straight or 90 degree adapter. My 1973 2.0 L has the relocated fuel pump up front. As soon as I understand what I need, I can order the 5 line set plus the correct adapter.

Thanks, Jim

Depending on how the fuel pump relocation was done, and the particular filter used, it's possible that no adapter is needed on your car. However, we generally recommend the 90 degree adapter where one is used under the tank.

The newest item in our fuel lines product inventory is 30R9 hose.
This is the best hose, resistant to corrosive additives found in today's gasoline.
Tangerine Racing Stainless Replacement Fuel Lines Webpage
Since I introduced the stainless lines 6 years ago, they continue to be one of our best selling products.
You can order individually or in complete sets.
We stock replacement sets for all model years, 914-4 and 914-6, in additon to sets for engine conversions.
We have a set that includes a Carter fuel pump for carbs. and we have grommets for the firewall and engine shelf, as well as new fuel tank sock filters.

In order to ship fuel lines to Australia at a more reasonable price I'm resorting to bending the lines a bit more than normal to fit them in a shorter box.
The USPS won't take anything longer than 42 inches, and FedEx, etc. want more than $300 for a box weighing only a few pounds.
One freight forwarding company I've used is below $200 but that's still exorbitant IMO.

So here's what I came up with:

It shouldn't be too hard to straighten the u-bend between the two green tape wraps.

I just installed these in my 1975. I have put a lot of time and money into my car as many of us have. I was horrified to find out when I removed my old lines that at some point that the original lines had been "repaired" by the insertion of rubber hose in the tunnel section. While that might an acceptable repair to some, it scared the crap out of me to know that I had gas lines that could break at any moment and numerous electrical connections all in such close proximity.

If you have not checked the condition of your tunnel lines I would suggest you do so. If you have any concerns at all I would recommend Chris's lines. George (the Painted man) suggested I check mine and I am so glad I did. The install is a bit of a bear as you have to remove the gas tank but the instructions from Chris are great. The only suggestion I can add is during the threading of the lines through the tunnel it is helpful to place a bright light in the tunnel near the pedal cluster and look through the hole that the shift linkage runs through when inserting the lines. This little trick helps a bunch!

Thanks Chris for such a quality product that represents a true increase in safety when installed.

Go to My Fuel Lines Webpage for a complete listing of our fuel system products.
Paypal is our preferred method of payment, however we will take credit card orders by phone.

Our SS Lines can be purchased individually or in sets made up specifically for your application.
The fuel injection hose we sell is Gates Barricade, which meets or exceeds 30R9 specifications. The fit is snug, no need to use a smaller size and stretch it over the fitting.

We have packages including all the hose, clamps, grommets needed to complete the installation.
We sell a 8mm FI hose and clamp set for the top of the engine, and fuel injector elbow sets with hose clamps.
We have low pressure and high pressure rotary fuel pumps.
We also have related items such as a brass tee for dual carbs.
