I hear people will go to great lengths to get out of the 'Valley of the Sunstroke' in summer (IMG:style_emoticons/default/poke.gif)

You ain't kidding! 110 - 115 is friggin hot!

I'm still trying to see if I can swing this event just for Saturday. It is my wife's Bday weekend so my only shot is to talk her into coming along "for a wonderful ride in the beautiful place we call Prescott". I'm not sure she'll buy it.

I have a feeling is that she will suggest that I take our daughter for the weekend while she goes to the spa. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

Well if having a day to herself at the spa would make her feel special for her birthday, then I'd say go for it! (But only if it's what she REALLY wants!)

Hey Mike, I am thinking about buying a house in the Phoenix area.
Could we schedule an appointment - how about we meet in Prescott next Saturday.

(hey Howard - can I borrow 300K?)

Guess what the UPS truck dropped off at my house an hour ago. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/piratenanner.gif) I think they turned out Great! The shirts arrived 5 days ahead of schedule. They must be as excited about the R66C as I am. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/boldblue.gif)

Attached Image

My plan is to mail them on Wed before the event. We can't have the people staying home getting theirs before the ones who are attending the event, now can we? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/alfred.gif)
Yes there are a few extras, but the Club members at the R66C will have first option. Watch for an update on the original t-shirt order thead to find out if there are any available.

If you are still undecided about attending, here is one more reason to join us for the fun. We have made arrangements with the operator of the Saw Mill in Jerome to fire up 'Big Bertha'. It is the antique 3 cyl. Faribanks Morris, 10,154 cubic inch engine that once powered the gold mine. The flywheel alone weighs 13,000 lbs. If you are anywhere in a 15 mile range, you will be able to hear it backfire after the demonstration. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)

John,

Based on the current schedule, what time do expect to be rolling in to Prescott? My wife and I will be meeting up with you there. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/driving.gif)

At long last, here's the menu for the Saturday night dinner:

All selections include freshly baked Murphy's bread, garden salad, mashed potatoes, fresh vegetables and coffee, tea, milk or soft drink.

Fresh Sterling Salmon - fresh seasonal salmon mesquite grilled and served with honey mustard sauce. $27.80

Rotisserie Chicken - Flame-roasted, fresh half chicken served with a marsala musroom sauce. $27.80

Prime Rib - Murphy's 10 oz signature slow roasted prime rib accompanied by rich Au jus and creamy horseradish sauce. $30.35

Prices include tax and gratuity.

We're doing this all on one check so please come prepared with cash or personal check to pay me at the dinner.

***** To help me plan please PM or email me to confirm that you will be at the Saturday night dinner, how many in your party, and what you want to order. I don't think the menu choice needs to be firm so you can change your mind, but I'd like to have some idea ahead of time.

I was in Prescott last week and the cheapest gas was at Costco (2.77gal) which was .08 cents cheaper than any one else.

Too bad you have to be a member of Costco. In Phoenix this weekend I got by at $2.90 at Albertsons with my discount card. In Flagstaff the cheapest is $2.95, but most are at $2.99+ so I don't figure it can last until the weekend.

The countdown has started. The Route 66 Classic is just hours away. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/burnout.gif)

What time is dinner on Friday night at the Beaver Street Brewery? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chowtime.gif)

If anybody wants my cell number, send me a PM. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/call me.gif)

I will be getting an early start for my long weekend on Thursday. I am heading to Carefree to visit a friend and talk about 'Mexican Road Racing', as he calls it. My plan is to try to make a deal and convince him to sell me a rare license plate he has that I want for my collection. The bad news is that he does not need the money. The good news is that he knows it is the last example I need to complete my set. I hope he takes pity on me and will agree to sell it. Wish me luck.
If I do manage to score the plate - Beer is on me Friday night to celebrate. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beerchug.gif)

We never set a time, but I'd say plan for 7:00 p.m. We can't make any kind of reservation for a group at Beaver Street so it's gonna be a matter of just showing up and seeing where they can put us.

Parking can be tight at the brewery. Beaver is a 1 way street going South. Right after you cross the railroad tracks there is public parking on the right and then you can walk about a block to the brewery. If you miss it you can try for the brewery, but if you there is no parking there then you have to go around the block so you can try the public parking again. (Go East to San Francisco if you need to go around. It's 1 way North and gets you back to Route 66 the fastest.)

Mapquest shows it as less than a mile from the Motel to the Brewery. It might be easier to walk than to mess with parking.

Why don't we just use the Host Hotel (Econo-Lodge, 914 S. Milton) as a staging area and we can figure it out from there. We can shoot for 7, but it will depend on who has arrived and who is expected. If you are traveling from out of town, please let us know if you plan to get there in time for dinner or not.

I can't see how I'll make it for 7pm, the earliest we can leave Vegas is around 4pm, so I wouldn't expect us there until 8pm or so.
