Managed grocery stores for a couple of chains on the Coast (CA) for 17 years.

Decided to go into education and taught for a number of years. Yes, I may have taught one of your kids.

Last 3 years, and currently, serving as a technology coach for our school district. I work with our 23 schools' teachers on integrating technology into their classroom curriculum.

I wonder if I should require all my teachers to read "How to buy a Porsche 914" by Dr. 914? Makes perfect sense to me...

Some famous words from our Governator (Arnold). California State Employee Handbook. Click during show to see more words of wisdom.

I spent 9 years working for AOL. Doing alot of stuff. Fixing email. Stopping spam, fixing viruses. Fixing United Airlines Flight Attendants and Pilots bidding programs. And some online help occasionally. Kinda funny I ended up fixing the email for the Bird board, the 928 specialist guys, the Vette guys, and worked on making it work here once.

When the signs became clear they wanted to move my job to india I quit last month, and now I work for Logitech. Kind of a Manufacter's Rep. Much better. So go out and buy a new mouse and keyboard.

I tell people who are trying to borrow money how much their homes and investment properties are worth.....and they tell me I'm wrong....way too low. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/yawn.gif)

Then I tell the same people, when they are getting divorced, how much their homes and investment properties are worth....and husbands tell me I'm wrong.....way too high....wives also tell me I'm wrong....way too low. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/huh.gif)

So I guess I make my living by being wrong....you'd think that would be easier. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/beer3.gif)

I'm an Oracle developer. I design and develop custom applications. I create the database tables, Oracle forms and reports. I used to work as a contractor and changed companies every year or so. I'm currently working full time for a international insurance company. If you need anyone to develop/code any Oracle stuff, let me know, I'm looking for part time work after hours (2:00 pm ET).

As for the money to puchase/repair/race the 914, my wife and I don't have any children and she works as a virtual EA (executive assitant) for a company out of CA. She starts work at 9:00 am and finishes anytime after 6:00 pm...

I'm a Senior Project Manager for a major heathcare general contractor. I'm on site sitting in a construction office trailer on a hospital addition and renovation project. We're currently converting a old operating room into a new Cath Lab and we have a outpaient lobby renovation underway. We finished a 100,000 s.f. heart center and E.R. addition in January. It included 9 new surgery suites, central processing (where they clean the surgery tools), O.B. renovation and CVICU renovation. It has a price tag of around $20 million.

We're waiting to be released on adding 2 floors of paient rooms to the existing hospital. About another $10 million.

Keep sending your parents and grandparents to retire in Florida. It keeps me employed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Work for Agere Systems as an applications group manager (EE). Been with the same company (well, started at Bell Telephone Labs, then AT&T Microelectronics, then Lucent, finally Agere) since college 25 years ago. Support customers using our telecom and power management ICs.

The best part of the job is supporting the products at trade shows like Networld + Interop, Comdex, Computex, NAB requiring travel to Las Vegas (many times), New Orleans, London, Taipei, and Dallas.

I fund my 914 habit by doing electrical wiring work on the side and by continuously making left hand turns on busy 2 lane roads until someone rear-ends me.

I've got one of "those" jobs that's kinda hard to describe.

I work for a individual (nobody super famous, don't get excited) and I basically do everthing for him. I'm a personal assitant (IMG:style_emoticons/default/KMA.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) .

He has a small office of 4 that I work from and I also handle the AP, Payroll Ect.

8 years now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif) and it is my first job out of school (business marketing, and geology degrees)

Ferg

Oh, and I buy and sell cars on the side, that's the play money (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

This is a great getting to learn about what everyone does.

I'm the marketing manager for Delicato Family Vineyards (IMG:style_emoticons/default/drunk.gif)
(see shameless plug below).

For the most part, my 914 runs on $ from rental property.

Up until April 29th I was the lowest form a life... a drummer. I have always had a day job, but it was treated as a distant second to music. The past year I had something music related, whether it be a show, a rehearsal, travel or a business meeting, pretty much 7 days a week.

My two lives finally collided when I was going to have to ask for at least 8 weeks of vacation time this year in order to tour - and that didn't include the various days where I would have to leave early.

I am very true to my birth sign (gemini) and like having a home and some disposable income almost as much as I enjoy running around the country in a bus trying to act far cooler than I am.

So, I grew my hair back, got married in September, gotta kiddo coming in November, and have been really enjoying working on our little house.

I am now just a finance guy for a big renal dialysis and blood technology company - and that is just fine.

Anyone want to buy some leather pants?

Just your run of the mill Gub'ment Physicist... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)

I play with lasers and stuff...

Really, it's not as glamorous as they make it out to be in "Real Genius", but I have actually gotten to use quotes from the movie while at work. Too bad most people didn't even get it... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dry.gif)

It's not my reason for living, my family and my friends are the reason. I work to live, but there are others that I know that are the "live to work" variety. Oh well, it takes all kinds I guess...

The teener bills? What bills? You mean I'm getting billed for all these parts!? I thought the parts fairy just delivered them to my doorstep every time I needed something. You know... the guy in the stylish brown outfit, driving the big brown truck? The parts fairy! But geez, I didn't know he -bills- me for all that stuff...
