I cut the firewall both for the belt and timing.

Are you kidding me? I need to replace my alternator. Does one need to cut an access port in the firewall (in lieu of dropping the engine) to do this?

nah... you just pull off all your induction... and the pull the shroud off...

Actually, young padawan learner (Aaron...), there is a thread in the classics on how to do this. I have done it with the MFI still on the motor, It is not hard at all.


I've had to pull my alt twice in the -6, so why am I smiling?
