914 with steel flares (AA GT copies). Not installed yet so have room for metal negotiation during the install. Already a 5 lugger.

Obvious a few variables such as ride height to take into consideration.
What is the widest wheel combination that can be used? 7x15 front and 8x15 rear seems to be the common yet dated and am trying to get away from those size's.

What about 17 inch wheels with a lower profile tire? Anyone ever run 7.5X17 in front and 9x17 in the rear? Would like to use 16 or preferably 17 inches wheels due to tire options available .What are some of the back space measurements you guys have used?

Looking for feedback and idea's. Have not decied on wheels yet.
Like the Rota Fox's and the price is right. Also considering used factory Fuchs as an option but I am unsure of backspace/offsets for the 914. Not worried about rubber robbing HP since a fat six is pushing.

15, 16, 17, 18...they all fit. You just need a tire with a shorter sidewall. Of course this has inherent reprocussions. (firmer ride etc)

It's the wheel width and offset that are the majic numbers you need to find. I plan on using 8" all around with my flares as a general statement...it will accept many tires from 215 to 245 width safely. A 9" rim can accept from 235 to 275.

I think the standard 911 offset works too...I like the classic look so 16x8 Fuchs with 245/45R16 will be the fittment on my 914. I use the same size all around as I can rotate to maximize tire life.

15" look good too, but 15" performance rubber is becoming more scarce....Not all tire companies make all sizes, so you may wish to go 17" as these sizes are more popular nowadays. a comparible size would be 245/40R17....

pick what you like there are many options.
