I just finished installing S and Y gears in 4th and 5th and decided to flip 5th to 3rd after reaading the autox thread. Put the whole shebang back into the intermediate plate and adjusted the shift forks and .......WTF? Huge play at synchro hub and shift ring. It's like there's one dog tooth missing at each of the three locking grooves. I don't remeber this slop when I took it apart last week. Oh well, I guess I'll buy a new ring. Big $$. I'm done for today. I'd have a beer or three, but I quit that.

QUOTE Nothing like pulling apart a cooked tranny in the morning. Sounds like a line from Apocalyps Now. |
