Maybe this has been mentioned, but the white 'undercoating' (actually it's seam sealer) is only on the Porsche built 914-6s. ... None of the Karmann built 914-4s have this type of 'undercoating'
Nope, not true.
My '70 /4 has it too ...
As for my guesstimate, i'd say
27.914 lbs

As for my guesstimate, i'd say
27.914 lbs My '73 has white too. Under the original paint it was very visible in the wheel wells. And yes it did look like the same colour as the seam sealer. It has been obviously sprayed on and painted over. Had a large pebble finish. But absolutely white - not black.

Weird...
None of the cars (besides the six) have that and I can't ever remember dealing with it during rust repair on any car but sixes.

When we stripped the car down to bare metal for the restoration the paint in the wheel wells came off with relative ease leaving the white undercoating virtually intact.
In hindsight I wish we had left the undercoat on because that car is about as rust free as you're going to find. I kept expecting to find rust damage - the car has spent it's entire life up here and I'm sure at one point it must have been taken out in the winter salt . . . but nothing. Whatever they did at the factory they did it right on my car.
I may have some pics somewhere showing the car with white wheel wells. And it's a March '73 build date.
