Months of 8 on/8 off. I got to see Haiphong Harbor in January 73 after Kissinger signed the peace treaty.
I hated every minute of it. The only good thing was the college education benefits that I got after I got out.

US Coast Guard from 1994-2000
Avionics Technition second class/Flight Mechanic aboard HH-65 Dolphin helicopters (think Baywatch). Stationed at San Francisco International Airport.
4 near crashes, on lost engine in a hover, only one to cut the cable with a swimmer on it saving the whole crew.
1 1/2 years aboard the USCGC Munro, patrolled the pacific waters from Equador to the Bering sea in the search of drugs, environmental offenders, and persons in distress. One of the few coasties to go on a WesPac to the litter box in 1999. Saw much of the Middle East and Asia.
Hanging out of a Helo saving people is a hard job to beat.

USN Spent all of '66 and a lot of '67 as Deck Officer on an LST that was built in 1943. Carried cement (once had a shipload of beer going to DaNang) to many parts of the Indochina penninsula. Do you have any idea how long it takes to sail from Norfolk VA to Saigon when your cruising speed is 8 knots? (that is when the engines run)

1 tour in country, mostly based at Tuy Hoa AB, RVN (on the beach next door to a VERY protective ROK regiment), got orders for Myrtle Beach, SC, so I voluntarily extended at Tuy Hoa for another 8 months. HQ, AFSC, Andrews AFB, MD for the balance of my hitch. Combat Documentary Photographer. That's like a photojournalist, only I got to fly A LOT. Spent substantial time "where we weren't", and was able to see a good part of SEA. Got out just before I sewed on E6 stripes ............. The Cap'n, formerly "The Sgt" ....................
