Any wheel up pics? How about these...

what racing series is that? 914's, 944s 911s????

That the BP race at the RunOffs. Don't try taking the inside line on a 944.

Here's me up on 2 wheels at the Marina Airport Auto-x in Monterey last year (The one Randal was referring to). Birgit took the pic. I could see everyone running away from the car as it went up on two wheels at the end of a high speed section into a hairpin. I even remember Birgit down on one knee to snap the shot.

The 911 guys said that you can't get a 914 up on two wheels at an auto-x, it would spin out first. I was running 375lbs rear springs, 23mm front torsion bars, a 27mm Smart Racing adjustable bar up front, and a stock rear bar connected. I had an open diff at the time and was running 23x9x15 Gooyear Cantilever slicks R210 compound (man...I miss that compound!)

It was a warm day and Rich Walton of JWE and I were going head to head with our final 3 runs back to back. The folks in the Loma Prieta Region were nice enough to let us run against each other with hot tires since I believe we were something like 1.5 seconds in front of the 3rd place car. Warm slicks with a nice warm, grippy service.....yep....you can get it on two wheels at an auto-x!

To this day, that's the most fun I've had at an auto-x!

I cant find one, but maybe somebody else can:

All of the "stiff" GT3RSR's and BMW's get all four off the ground at Sears point. Our GT3R 00 team received a poster of the number 5 car off the ground at the end of the weekend. Pretty cool gift. I dont think amateur photo guy's have access to the part of the track where it occurs (I forget which corner..may be 3?)

There were three Mercedes CLK flips at that years Le Mans, one in practice (car repaired), one in the morning warmup (car withdrawn), and one in the race (one car crashed/flipped and one car withdrawn). I think Mark Weber, current F1 driver, was in one of the flyers.

Does the seriously airborne car mean we should wear parachutes when we drive? laugh.gif

Thi is just one wheel getting some air as it exits the track. The interesting part is that it was moving along without a driver. The Magic Wheel MSG L
