Here are a couple of quick Photoshop mockups using the 914World logo as a basis.

My idea was to keep the design simple and colors to a minimum.

I really like Andy's design. I would add the geared edges to make it perfect

Just throwing this out there but instead of the german translation of club member you put your individual club member name. It would be personal to you...one of a kind.

It would drive up costs though................. dry.gif

Dave

It can be done, but at $200 per layout, probably not worth it inless there could be a blank and you could add somehow.

Reference design on the right side (picture not added)

Nice. Now change the (right side) globe colors to alternating Black, Red, Gold. Basic badge color Gold with Chrome lettering.

An additional option to change "Club Member" to "Owner", "Restoration", "Original", etc. would command a higher price, but would bring earned value (personal pride) to the badge.

Again, just my two Pfennings worth.

How about a design that incorporates boxer pistons/rods/crank. I have a tatt of such a thing. I cant draw and have no photo shop. Just artistic suggestions smile.gif

Maybe incorporate the engine parts above with some sort of silhouette of the front of the car as the front is very characteristic and where I find the most beautiful lines.

In the color of rust lol-2.gif Oh and no personal names. Who would buy a car with Dave or Evil on the badge.
Dr Evil
I do love my badge smile.gif I could not draw it, but I described it to Todd Enlund and he hooked it up perfectly. I have a tatt of this, too.

Plus one on Andy's design with the geared edges in a metal finish. With color options to match SOME factory colors.

SirAndy,
I did a layout similar to yours, added the gear teeth on the edge in cad today. Was thinking of putting the teener's silouette in the middle and have 914 WORLD across the top. Can't find my camera to post a picture of it.

Last one... variation of the boxer design but with 914 instead since some don't have a boxer engine

Can the teeth on the edge go all the way around and smaller?.... which will make more of them and give you room for the web address on the bottom.

Also, I like the other one with all the profiles with different colors.

Yes, the teeth could go all the way around. Just trying something a bit different.

Thanks for the comments, guys. I like the color profiles as well but the simplicity of the second/third designs is appealing.

I really like post number 68, and suggest a few refinements.
No gear teeth, smooth edges
Same words and layout at SirAndy,s badge designs.

The colors on post 68 are perfect in my opinion....
Elliot Cannon
Nice designs all but I prefer something simple and classy. A silhouette of the car, 914world.com and maybe German flag colors. KISS.
JeffBowlsby
I like Andy's...it looks classic and timeless. German car, German text - it werks.

I see it as a wet-applied decal for the glass.

How about a black/yellow version? happy11.gif

I like the contrasting colors and partial silouette. Why not offer both styles, one with the gear teeth and one without....smooth.

Dave biggrin.gif
Cuda911
No offense meant, but I'm not too keen on this design with the partial black silhouette.

On a quick glance, the left half looks like the silhouette of the back of a tow truck. Well maybe that IS fitting, I guess.

The first one with the multi-car silhouettes is much nicer.

Is there a badge shaped like jack stand?

I'm surprised at the prices, $25 each for a minimum order of 40. Plus the $250 for the master mold, which can be spread out over the buyers.

...but they say they will keep the master for four years for future orders. It would be nice if SirAndy got the master after the four year mark so it wouldn't get tossed.

I agree it's a great design but i really don't want a ripoff of Jeron's 914Club badge.

I would want the silhouette on the badge. Despite who may have done it before. The silhouette of the 914 is why I like the car and choose to invest money into saving it.

I had actually planned to sponsor the badge program.
Set up is $200 on the standard 3" dia round, and by the time I got 50 badges in hand, the unit cost at $15 a badge.
I'm fine if someone else wants to handle it, but those are the best price points I've been able to get.

Here is mine, mostly a simplified version of SirAndy's. Originally I was thinking of putting the teener profile in the middle but conflict of the old design.

Without the geared teeth if would be a 3 1/4" diameter, with 3 1/2".

Whenever a 356 is modified, it was called a hotrod or (outlaw)...since most of us have modified teeners we could use outlaw too. But to seperate from the 356... I say 914world..german colors..teener silhouette..but outlaw ritten in german? confused24.gif
