Awesome pic.....one for the next calendar.

That is very cool pic.

Thanks Big Len and 914_teener! I may use it for a desktop background and "hide" the icons in the snow.

LOVED the 5000/100 range... absolute tanks and suepr comfortable, everyone was scared of them so you could buy one cheap...just had to watch out for the stupid brake pressure accumulator and the leaking steering racks... but that 5 cylinder was rock solid.
I got my start in my "profession" by being a parts guy at an independant Porsche/Audi/Volkswagen repair shop... I've had an '84 4000s Quattro, '89 100 Quattro, '92 100cs Quattro Avant, '90 90 Quattro 20v, '96 A6 Quattro, '00 A6 2.8 Quattro and now '04 VW Passat 1.8t 4motion... I've been driving all whell drive cars since 1994...

Here's my favorite, my old '84 4000...

ezbngreen914 - Fantastic shots, that's for sharing!

Now I feel guilty about leaving my teener garaged. Driving it the snow doesn't bother me, but they go absolutely crazy with salt around here...

A whopping 4-5" here this morning in Southern MD, but more than enough to keep everyone home. Had a great 15 mile drive to work today in the Suby - hardly anyone on the snowy roads, lots of ponies under the hood and all wheel drive - almost kept driving instead of turning into the office... Need more commutes like this driving.gif

I used to love driving my 68 Beetle in the snow around Frederick when I was in high school- the mountains around there really helped me hone my skills and find traction when you thought there was none. Now, driving in the snow in Utah is a snap in most cases and even though most years we have lots more than this year, this dry snow here is almost a dry road compared to the icier stuff back east... Still love getting out there and driving on those roads again when I can! driving.gif

If there is a 914 in the bottom you would be safe to assume that the top contains a collection of random 914 parts in various states of usability... and also a beer fridge...

I have a double wide French door to no where on the second floor of my barn also.
Easier to load up the upstairs, that is how the pool table went up there....

Definitely the way to go. You'll notice the "stairs" in the back don't provide much access.

Djeez what did you do to get Jack Frost so mad at you? We're expecting the first real Spring day tomorrow: 61 degrees and for Sunday hitting the high 60s. My son is off sailing this Sunday. I have to pack sun tan lotion for him.

I'm going to pull my TR3A out of hibernation next week. Still waiting for my 914 to arrive, so I will start the season with a front-engined, rear wheel drive car.

I was at our Petoskey cottage checking for broken water pipes & all is good. I woke up with -19 degree temps outside & stayed at a warm hotel, used my remote car starter to warm the car up, light jacket to my warmed up car and never felt the pain. popcorn[1].gif
Life is good when everything works. pray.gif
BTW: I really feel bad for our MA guys when the snow melts. headbang.gif Put your 914 up on jack stands above the flood waters.

Another 4-5" in Southern MD Thursday night bringing us over 20" for the year, 18" of that in three storms in the last three weeks. Nothing compared to the NE, but twice our annual snow fall, and rare to have measurable snow after mid-late Feb. Also snow typically melts within a day or two around here.

The real bear have been temps - 20-30 deg below normal for the last three to four weeks. Mid 20's yesterday, norm is low 50's. Between snow, salt, and temps cars haven't left the garage in over a month. sad.gif

Left on travel Tuesday morning and we were seeing grass out back for the first time in two weeks, came home yesterday to this. The creek has been iced over for 3+ weeks, also not typical.

I'm ready for spring!
