Anyone have more info on the Lind motor?
I have met a cousin of my wife who is a vw nut and lives in Sweden.
I want to see if we can track down the motor.

Any articles or folklore, myth or clues ????

@Mueller are you still on the board?

Did you find anyone making cases or cranks?

I am close to starting up this project
Mill and lathe here, just getting them hooked up.

I still think copying the original flat /12 design with the center supported crank could work for two stock /4 cranks welded together.

You need to eliminate the tendency of the crank to want to bend in the center under torque.

It was also bloody brilliant to run the fan in the center straight off gears on the crank.

Two points,

When cutting the case to do this, you are left with two main journals next to each other…I don’t think bending could happen at that point.

The fan…
I’m intending on a horizontal fan, and I found some high speed 90 degree transmission I can use from a pulley at the front to a shaft mounted fan.

Now, I did see @Cairo post a new fan shroud on some other thread somewhere….I want to see who he got that from…make it a bit longer
