Guilty.
In general I think you're correct-something technical. Based on shows I've been to lately that might be the trend for younger people with older cars.

From reading this thread, it seems the average age of a 914 owner is the same as the average age of a 914.

A little older Clay.
If the 914 is roughly 45 years old, and we are roughly 55 years old, then as a group we are about 10 years older than our cars.
That says a lot about when we began to take notice and want one...

I can agree with that. It's kinda like your taste in music. It gets set in your teenage years, and anything newer just seems to suck.

I'll be raising the average, currently 72. Bought my first 914 in 1988 at age 42 and had to sell it a year later when we moved to Stuttgart. Bought the second car in 2005 not too long after I retired. Still have car # two. I'v had the blue car to the left for 40 years so tend to keep some for a long time.

If you go by conception date, I should be 65 but Medicare don’t play dat.
Still single track mountain bike, downhill ski, hike the mountains and occasionally run. On the senior side I also garden 3/4 acre, belong to a male dinner club and drive my 911 in a very non-leisurely manner.

Wonder if
@sirandy can export the birthdates of all members and calculate the true average of umpteen thousand 914 owners. I am guess about 65.
I do know of a 100 year old lady that still owns the 914 she bought new in 1970.
Top that. And she drove it until she was 96.

914 owners dont lie. Maybe if they are women who are just being conservative on their age.

68, have had 6 914s. Had a six ordered in '72, but instead ordered a 4 and picked it up at the factory, then drove it through 9 European countries. It was then shipped from London to Chicago. One was the M1 class Autocross champion at the Porsche Parade in San Antonio, as well as the class champion in the Michelin slalom Challenge. in 1997.
