It is time for the next installment in my Indiana barn-find 914 and it is time to adjust the valves! I want to just check the valve adjustments before attempting to start it up for the first time in 6-7 years. I am not sure what all the p/o did to it, he had mismatched plugs in there so I don't quite trust his judgment. Does anyone on here have any tip/tricks for valve adjustment? I've done some research and spoken to a local air-cooled expert so I know I will need the following
19mm / 21mm wrench
13mm wrench
Medium sized flat bladed screwdriver.
feeler gauge
2 new valve cover gaskets

Next time, I will hopefully have access to a lift to do the oil change work and drain that extremely antique fuel!

And btw, a dime is more useful than a screwdriver to turn the adjuster screws in tight quarters... err dimes.

Captain Krusty's method worked fabulos for me.
