Fri Sept 10: Drivers meeting at 9:14am. Be ready to drive at 9:44! Drive to Needles (part of Canyonlands National Park, so bring your Natl Parks Pass). Snack lunch in the park (trail mix, nuts, cheese sticks, apples, chips, cookies). Dinner: Parking lot Pizza and Salad.

Yes we’ve been there before.

I have been to Ockteener Fest, Rt 66 and West Coast Ramble. Driven my 914 through Mohab on the way home once. BUT I never have been to the Red Rocks Classic. I want to though. Pencil me in, although things can happen in the meantime. I get my second shot oin Saturday.

The usual... pencil me in for cancelling at the last minute because I still haven't gotten to fix my car yet.

The Moab area is really nice, but having been up to Sparta and the Lake Mohawk area, you've got some great roads back there as well!

Just commit dagnabit!!!

And it hurts, to quote The Rolling Stones. But I hope to pull through and go to Red Rocks.

When I called and put my name on the reservation list a few weeks ago the girl I spoke with insisted the group was checking in Wednesday the 8th. Even after i told her that I would be there on the 9th she still put me down for the 8th. Not sure what the disconnect was but may be worth checking in on their expectations around this booking.

The Vegas Caravan to the 17th annual Red Rocks Classic will begin on Wed. Sept. 8th.
Boulder City, Hoover Dam, Lake Mead tour on the way to Mesquite, NV for the night.
Meet up with other travelers at Casa Blanca Resort Casino. (they sent me a Free Room offer)

Thurs. Sept. 9th. We will be taking the good road, Scenic Byway Hwy. 12 to get to Moab.
Zion, Bryce, Capitol Reef, with Lunch in Torrey, UT.

My return trip on Sunday will add a bonus night in Park City, UT, plus a visit to PMB on Monday.

Really hoping to make this. I should know in the next couple weeks if my car will be ready. Fingers crossed.

Still on the fence. Some how I feel that I need to be more like one of my heroes. I am not able to take more time in the drive to and from the events . It's kinda like I'm doing a task and have some sort urge to get the miles over instead of enjoying the stuff that is near my path. I do stop for Ribs though, The Shed Blue's and BBQ in Ocean Springs, MS and Tyler's BBQ in Amarillo, TX. Maybe I need to explore more but the way I see it they are numbers 2 and 3 in the country.

A bit far to come from NJ but was out there 3 years ago. Be sure to stop at the brewery for their Dead Horse Ale. But not too many! Beautiful landscape will make for great photos, too.

Other than hanging and driving with fellow 914 nuts, can’t wait to experience the views. Never been and can’t wait.

I'm gonna show up for a couple of days...my wife told me to get out of town because I smile more after an event!

I had such a good time with the Rt66 crowd I really want to do this. But, my wife and I will celebrate our 45th wedding anniversary on Sept 10, and we never have been apart on that date yet. She has stuck with me to Ockteener Fest, west Coast Ramble, and flying in to Denver for the return trip for Rt66. Such heroism is hard to find.
I hope you all have a blast.

We’ll post final drive and meal plans this weekend. See you all in 4 weeks!
