Would like 2 SS sets. One is for a standard 78 911sc while the other is for a 76 914 with stock rear calipers along with 3” aluminum brembos on T struts up front. Guidance on what to get appreciated.

I'm in if they fit my 930 calipers. Do they?

Great question Mike, short answer - Yes.

This is worth saying because we're getting a lot of these questions:

Calipers do not matter for the soft lines. These lines go between the body and the strut up front and the body and the control arm in the rear. What matters is the strut and the control arm mounting tabs.

Early cars used the same front soft line as the 911, 911SC, 930 and 911 Carrera. The part number is 901 355 632 02. It's longer that the rear line but, the rear line on an early car uses the same 14mm end and spring for the control arm tab.

Early cars will use this clip on the body tab:

And this spring on the strut tab:

Here's a early/or 911 strut as an example:

If you have upgraded to 911 struts up front (and many have) you'll want an early set.

Later cars used a larger 16mm end with the clip journal in it on the strut. They in turn use the same clip as the body tab so both ends of the larger 16mm ends for these clips.

Here's that clip again. On later cars this will be on the strut as well as the body tab:

Here's a few shots of them on a later car:

Now on to the rear which is essentially the same. The early cars have a tab on the control arm which has the precision 14mm hole for the early line.

Here's an early 914-6 rear control arm tab (same as an early 914-4). These have the 14mm precision holes and use the springs:

Later cars have the 16mm hole and slotted tab. The body tabs both front and rear do not change for all cars. Only the control arm and strut tabs change.

Here's a late 914-4 rear control arm. These take the later 16mm hose ends with the clip journal:

Here's where it becomes important. If you have 911 struts up front and later control arms in the rear you'll want to order an "Early" kit and let Holly know what your configuration is. We will make a note and shipping will include (2) 13.5mm washers to center your rear lines on the tab. You will also need (2) springs (Part #803 611 715) which can be had for a couple bucks online.

Here's a picture of an early rear line with the washer on a late arm:

Bottom line is calipers don't matter - Struts and control arms do. wink.gif

Hope that helps,

Eric

I would like a set of the rubber lines for a 1973 911S please. Last winter my 1973 914 2.0 received PMB restored calipers and new brake lines and my 1971 914-6 received PMB restored rear calipers and Brembo front calipers and new brake lines. This winter the 911S will receive the same treatment to complete the trio.

Thanks,
Mark

Hello Eric -

I will take a rubber set for a '73.

Also, I need a few miscellaneous pieces for the brake system like the c-clips and boots over the brake cables. Would I be able to get these and throw them in the same shipment?

Let me know.

Thanks for making these.
