I bought a bunch of V-8 parts from Doug (owner of that car)
He's very detailed and did a great job. I'm thinking of taking my V-8 car to his painter. They did all the final body work and it is fantastic.
Those headlights are custom made. It's a cool ride. Good job Doug!! |
If he's a club member what's his ID, I'd like to add him to the conversions list? I've seen early pics years ago on the old Porschev bbs. I'm glad he finished it.
How much did his paint cost?
Nice work, did he roll up his windows? Im curious how the plexi holds up...

Here are some more pictures of everyone's favorite V8 supercar.
|
That car is tight!
What are the blue-green-orange buttons for beside the shifter?
Any news on the brakes and suspension?
Anyone go for a ride in it want to describe it?
How did it sound?
That's an incredible job. Rear trunk is outrageous. Love it.
That thing should be in Excellence (I guess V8's would be disqualified) or some magazine it's so rad.

I took a good look at it and can only say that the quality of workmanship and attention to detail were probably better than new cars get today. It was put together very well.
As far as the looks, well, let's just say that it's not my cup o' tea.
Doesn't seem to have much 914 left in it.

He hasn't had the windows cut yet. Combo of modified door and W/S rake will make it a very custom job. Engine sound is like a 360 Modena on steroids. I think extra buttons activate FLIR and AEGIS systems.

Joe and Linda - Thanks for hosting such an awesome BBQ!! It was great to meet so many people while we were there.
Waide's car ran perfect for the trip home.
I'll post some pics when I get some time tomorrow. Again, it was great meeting everyone.
Mike - to copy Aaron, HUGE thanks for the ride in your car. It makes me wish my conversion would be done sooner!

LvSteveH and I spent the night at a nearby motel. Sunday morning - the drive home.
Vegas is north/east - so I headed south/west on Hwy 1.
We cruised the coast and stopped for breakfast with the beautiful people, joggers and dog walkers.
Before we got to Mexico, I turned east for a run up The Ortega Highway.

Cris,
Was really glad that you got you 914 running good; it really caps off a good bar-b-que to see another 914 running and a happy owner.
When I went though similiar problems several years ago, and before the 914world.com was established, it was very depressing. It's great to see others don't have to go through that.
Keep the faith, enjoy the 914, and keep your AA current.

Mere thanks from me to Joe are simply not enough. But I'll say it anyway, Thanks Joe! He let me wake him up at midnight so I could crash in his house, took me to Donut Derilects in the morning, bought me breakfast, handed me tools and parts as I bellowed for them as I dirtied his driveway, and fed me some great food. You sir, are a man among men.
Saw some old friends and met some new ones. And what a collection of sweet 914's!
