Hey, that's cool.. Alot better than trying to lock the trans by engaging 2 gears at once.

Now where am I going to find a bad 1st gear slider? tongue.gif

Holds drive shaft steady to you can torque on and off the main bolt.

Looks pretty amateur to me. I'll stick with the factory technique, which has served me well for 33 years. You still need the factory jig, or its equivalent, to set the forks, so why not use it for the torquing procedure? The Cap'n

Because it is novel. Sure the jig does the task perfectly, but I like the way others think out of the box.
Sheesh, dont be such a fuddy duddy.

Also, this tool would help in changing first with the stack and tranny in the car.

I figured this is what it was for, just wanted to be 100% sure.

I use something similar from a clutch disc to hold the input shaft.

Welded clutch center to a cheapy floorjack handle.

Jeff Bonnano gave me an impact socket with the female splined center of a clutch disc welded on.
